Justine has extensive experience handling matters related to open-source software strategy, data privacy law compliance, and marketing law compliance.

With both law firm and in-house experience, Justine has a nuanced understanding of the needs and priorities of businesses. Prior to joining West Hill Technology Counsel in 2022, Justine honed her corporate legal skills in the audio and video editing technology space. As Associate Counsel at iZotope (a leader in audio editing plug-in software), Justine participated in due diligence related to the acquisition of iZotope by Francisco Partners. She also managed the integration of iZotope’s systems and policies with those of its sister companies under the newly-formed Soundwide parent company. Justine also drafted and negotiated key company contracts, managed vendor vetting and contracting, and co-led the company’s compliance with global data privacy laws and U.S. marketing laws. Before joining iZotope, Justine served as Corporate Counsel at Avid, a publicly traded company specializing in audio and video editing software and hardware used by major film and television studios and professional audio producers and engineers. At Avid, Justine led the company’s compliance with the newly enacted California Consumer Privacy Act, advised the company in the areas of marketing law compliance and trademark strategy, and drafted and negotiated licensing agreements, and services and sales agreements, including multimillion dollar strategic transactions.  Previously, Justine was an associate at Ropes & Gray in Boston.
